We are adding, to the articles on our site, two papers from Alberto Cappi, italian astronomer from the Observatorio Astronomico di Bologna (under the author’s license). In these papers, Cappi constructs an insightful  review of  Poe’s physical Cosmology, and discusses in depth  some of the main features of Eureka, in light of current cosmology, among them:
1 – whether Poe’s metaphysics lead him to the Original Unity, or if, on the contrary, physical facts originated his metaphysics;
2 –  Poe’s reference to what we currently know as the anthropic principle (the universe must be such that can encompass our existence as its witnesses – in the discussion on age and size of the Universe);
3 – the development of  (at least) a coherent Newtonian model of the Universe, solely based on the available books at his time.
